A Community Festival for Everyone
Sabin Harvest Days is a festival held in August (17th & 18th 2012) when the community of Sabin gathers together, and we invite you and your family to enjoy our small-town hospitality. There are many attractions during Sabin Harvest Days, such as the pancake feed, fun at the Old 52 General Store, street fair, inflatable games, parade, the F-M Crusaders street dance, a car and bike show, steam engines, firemen water fights, and a golf tournament. With Sabin being located only 7 miles south of the Fargo-Moorhead area on Old Highway 52, a few days of fun is not so far away.
Sabin is well known as a farming community. Harvest time is important for the City of Sabin, for the farmers, and our local area businesses. The farmers and local area businesses depend on a successful harvest to survive every year. Many businesses have survived off of successful harvests, even Scheels. That’s right, Scheels! Three acres of potatoes were the seed for the first Scheels store back in 1902. Frederick A. Scheel, a German immigrant, used the $300 he earned from that first harvest of potatoes as the down payment on the first Scheels Hardware and General Store in Sabin, Minnesota.
