About Sabin Harvest Days
The first Sabin Days was held August 19–21, 1994. It began because Becky Nyland, a newcomer to Sabin thought, "Every other small town has a festival, why doesn’t Sabin?" She gathered a small group of volunteers, and the first few festivals, including Sabin Apple Days in 1999, were a great success. However, like all big events it took a lot of time and hard work, and regrettably the time restraints were just too much for such a small group to continue running the events.
It wasn't until January 2010 that a few people wanted to start up Sabin Days once again. Remembering the fun and all the hard work of Becky and her volunteers, this new group of people decided they were ready to take over where the others had left off. With advice from Becky Nyland on her past events, the new group started to create a festival that will hopefully become an annual event in Sabin.
In order to attempt keeping an annual festival in Sabin, the new group of people decided to add a theme to the festival. It was decided that Sabin Harvest Days would be the new name. The Sabin Harvest Days group started planning on March 1st, 2010. This new group consisted of Aric Saign, president, Chuck Krabbenhoft, vice president, Markell Briden, secretary, and Leisha Woltjer, treasurer. It wasn't long before more people joined the quest to organize this festival. Sabin Harvest Days' first annual festival was held August 20th–21st, 2010, and it was a great success, thanks to everyone involved.
Sabin Harvest Days became a non-profit corporation June 1st, 2010 and at the end of November 2010 became a 501c3 non-profit organization. Not only is Sabin Harvest Days an annual festival, but it also dedicates itself to helping the community. With Sabin softball breakfast feeds and a dinner feed for families in real need during the holiday season, Sabin Harvest Days is truly devoted to its community.
